Retrofitting existing T8 Tube light fixtures for Direct wire LED lights
Retrofitting existing T8 tube light fixtures for direct wire LED lights is relatively a simple process and can be a rewarding experience if done correctly. But many customers have used the ballast compatible (not Direct Wire) led lights that simply plug into the existing fixture thinking that would fix the flickering light they have. In most cases the flickering is caused by a faulty ballast which are expensive to replace. This can cause the customer to have a missed expectations and poor experience.
For this reason we strongly recommend to our customers to use our Direct Wire LED tube lights. The direct wire LED tube lights have a built in drive so they do not need an external ballast. The retrofit process is simple where you have to remove the existing ballast, reconnect the wires, and then install the new lights. Below is an example from one of our upgrade project that demonstrates how we retrofitted the existing fixture for direct wire LED tube lights.
